Finally the video work titled I tried is online.

The storyline of the video work I tried is a sequence showing where someone is trying to open several milk cartons after another. Some of the milk cartons open very easy, others the person has to force to get them open. The video is about 3:35 minutes long, but is shown in a loop. An endless activity of trying.

The last three months I have worked in a studio at the Duende Studios in Rotterdam to create some new work. Before I left the studio I organized a presentation of the works that I made in the last six months. On my website under Project/Exhibition you can find pictures of the works I displayed in the studio.

EACO art certificate 2010

Dear reader,

Finally since January the EACO (Official European Art Certification Office) website is online. The EACO is a fictional organization that testifies art. Artists who are unsure of their artworks and prefer to get a guarantee on their artwork in form of a certificate can now apply for a certification of the EACO. The procedure is easy. Check the website http://kulturelleordnung.de/ for further information and get your artwork testified!

Work: Eau d’artiste

Eau d'artiste

The work with the title: Eau d’artiste is completed.
A small perfume bottle filled with transparent liquid. The liquid basically consists of condensation water that the artist found on the windows of her studio. Since a few months the artist took the condensate from the window and saved it into a perfume bottle. The artist added a drop of odorless alcohol to the water to preserve the liquid from turning bad. A glorification of the artist. The artist as a trophy, everybody wants a piece of him.

Work: Zurück in die Zukunft

I was visiting the birthplace of my grandmother and her family last year in Zlotniki Lubanski (Silesia). The former name is Goldentraum, it is located about twenty kilometers from the German boarder in Poland. My grandmother and her family got deported in 1946 and were send to West Germany by train. They had to leave there houses and friends.
In my work Zurück in die Zukunft one can find confrontations of older photos with newer ones. Some of them are attached with written memories of the original owner of the photographs.

Project: Pinhole Camera

A new version of the self-made 4 x 5 inch pinhole camera is out.

Last month I asked professional help for building a new version of the pinhole camera. I already made some test photos. The making of the first photo and its result is shown below.

Also there will be a tutorial about the making of a 4 x 5 inch pinhole camera on the website. So people who are interested can make their own camera.

Work: Trophäe (Trophy)

I just finished a new piece of work called Trophäe (Trophy). It basically is a plaster copy of my head attached to a wooden plate. The work refers to hunting trophies that are very popular in the hunting scene. The work belongs to a group of art works. Another work out of the series is called L’eau d’artiste.
In an ironical way the series discusses the heroic being of an artist.
