I went to my hometown Siegen to gather information about the Eichener Strasse. At first I made photographs of all buildings located on the one side of the street. While taking the pictures I already got in contact with people living on this street. It is an old historic street, lots of houses are under monumental protection.
I found out that there used to be lots of shops there. Shops like a butcher shop, a small supermarket and a bakery, which disappeared only a few years ago. There is nothing left, only the place where they brew the almost famous Eichener Pils beer. I also visited the municipal archive and asked questions about the history of the street.
But that was just to warm up. Next week I will begin surfing the Internet for information about the people living in this street.
I am curious about what I will find :)
